Assignment Description

We are looking for a Senior COBOL Developer

What You Will Work On

• Develop and implement a POC for message-based integration with legacy banking systems
• Ensure stable and accurate two-way communication in high-volume transaction environments
• Design and build solutions using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2
• Participate in architecture and design discussions
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancements of existing systems
• Conduct production analysis and support issue resolution
• Execute unit testing and ensure overall solution quality
• Contribute to automation and process optimization initiatives
• Support modernization and migration efforts within the mainframe environment
• Create clear technical documentation and knowledge-sharing materials
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to requirement refinement (long-term)

What You Bring

• Extensive experience in mainframe development
• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2
• Proven experience with message-based integration in high-transaction environments
• Experience working with VTR or similar messaging frameworks
• Strong focus on reuse, simplification, and automation
• Ability to work across both technical and business domains
• Strong communication skills in Swedish (or Scandinavian language) and English
• Experience working in agile environments with iterative delivery
