Are you ready to shape how complex industrial projects are delivered globally?
We are now looking for a Senior Manager, PMO to lead and develop our Project Management Office. In this role, you will own the performance, governance, and continuous development of the PMO, ensuring high quality project execution, strong financial results, and engaged, capable teams across locations.
Valmet’s Tissue Business Area Services delivers modernization, improvement, field service, and agreement projects for Tissue Machines and Air Systems worldwide. We help our customers improve performance, reliability, and sustainability through high technology, strong execution, quality, and collaboration.
This role offers a unique opportunity to influence how projects are managed across countries, functions, and technologies.
Your primary location will be in our Karlstad, Wroclaw or Gorizia office. Other relevant Valmet locations may be considered.
Your Main Tasks and Responsibilities Include
- Lead and develop a global PMO team of Project Managers and Project Coordinators by setting clear expectations and empowering ownership
- Lead the portfolio level performance, including project margins, cash flow, risk management, and delivery predictability
- Build on trust by fostering open, transparent collaboration across sales, engineering, manufacturing, finance, supply chain, and site operations
- Ensure strong PMO governance, project lifecycle discipline, and timely gate decisions
- Collaborate for growth by continuously improving ways of working, tools, and capabilities across countries and teams
- Lead with courage by challenging existing practices, driving change, and addressing risks early and fact based
- Ensure high quality order management and system execution from PDM to ERP
Expectations
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, Project Management, Automation or a related field
- Proven experience in project management, PMO leadership, or portfolio management in an industrial or engineering environment
- Strong understanding of project financials, margin management, and risk control
- Experience working in a global, multicultural, matrix organization is a plus
- Ability to lead through clarity, trust, and fact-based decision making
- Experience with ERP and project management systems (e.g. Infor LN or similar) is an advantage
- Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe and globally
